In May of this year, we announced in
a blog post that our odor and VOC control subsidiary Odor-No-More,
Inc. had advanced to the semi-finals in the “Environmental Technology” track of
the “China InnoStars Preliminary Competition.” One of 963 initial applicants,
Odor-No-More is traveling this week to China for the competition along with six
other companies in the Environmental Technology track.
The InnoSTARS Competition is a platform for
innovative U.S. companies to compete and connect with investors and partners
from China. It is the one and only innovation competition officially supported by both
the U.S. and Chinese governments. In 2017, The InnoSTARS Competition was
featured in the scientific and technology cooperative area at the first
U.S.-China Social and Cultural Dialogue (SCD), co-chaired by U.S. Secretary of
State Rex Tillerson and Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong. The goal of the competition is to provide US-based innovative
technology companies with resources to enter the Chinese market. This
competition, hosted by the US China Innovation Alliance (UCIA) and China
Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC), is supported by the Ministry of
Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China (MOST). It provides
U.S.-based innovators and companies with a better understanding of the
opportunities available to them in doing business with China and Chinese
partners and investors. Join InnoSTARS to gain unique access to leading
resources in China.
The Semi-Final events in China represent an opportunity for
Odor-No-More to gain exposure in China’s tremendous and growing community of
environmentally-minded investors, as well as to create inroads for sales of the
company’s disruptive odor and VOC control product, CupriDyne Clean®. China has
well-documented challenges in environmental areas such as air quality control
and management of polluted, odorous rivers, creating a massive need for innovative
solutions in the cleantech industry.
While making inroads with CupriDyne Clean in the solid waste
management industry in the US, we have begun targeting new vertical segments,
including wastewater treatment. The InnoStars program is a stepping stone to
expanding into new regional markets such as China. We believe the time is right
to capitalize on CupriDyne Clean’s momentum and expand its adoption to new
segments and markets with a need for effective, safe, environmentally friendly
odor and VOC control.
What is a BioLargo
Spotlight?
It’s an exciting time
at BioLargo. We’re moving fast, and it can be difficult to keep our
stockholders and the investing public informed of our progress. In light of
this, we will be posting a series of short articles titled “BioLargo
Spotlight”, highlighting certain business activities and other important
information in between our required SEC filings. Of course, these do not
replace our public filings, which contain more complete information than can be
delivered in this forum, and thus we urge you to carefully read and rely on
those filings for definitive information, and to review our risk factors and
caution regarding forward-looking statements. We are optimistic about our
business as we work hard to continue to grow and ultimately generate profits for
our stockholders.
