BioLargo Announces Funding for Design/Installation of Full-Scale “Zero Liquid Discharge” Wastewater Treatment and Reuse Project

Alberta Innovates commits to provide significant funding

Westminster, CA – December 22, 2020 – BioLargo, Inc. (OTCQB:BLGO), developer of cutting-edge environmental technologies and a full-service engineering company, announced today that its Canadian subsidiary has received grant funding necessary to begin the design and construction of a full-scale farm-wide “zero liquid discharge” wastewater treatment and reuse project at Sunworks Farm, an organic poultry producer in Alberta, Canada.

Scheduled to begin operating next year, BioLargo will design, build, install and operate a custom water treatment train featuring its patented Advanced Oxidation System (AOS) technology. The system will treat all wastewater produced by farming operations and convert it to reusable water, saving the farm money and reducing its environmental impact. This project will make Sunworks Farm the first “zero liquid discharge” poultry facility in Alberta Canada, a significant technical and environmental achievement for both companies and for the Canadian poultry industry.

Alberta Innovates has committed funding for the project through the Water Innovation Program (https://albertainnovates.ca/programs/water-innovation/).

BioLargo Water President Dr. Richard Smith commented, “Poultry production in North America results in the discharge of over 60 billion gallons of wastewater into the environment every year, with few farms currently opting for capture and reuse systems. Zero liquid discharge systems are increasing in popularity due to their water use and discharge cost savings and because of the substantial environmental benefits. Our goal is for the AOS to be a by-word for water reuse.”

“BioLargo’s Advanced Oxidation System (AOS) technology has the potential to protect Alberta’s water quality and improve water reuse at Sunworks Farm. Advancing the reuse of wastewater through innovation is an important way to support economic development and environmental stewardship in Alberta”, says Dr. Brett Purdy, Executive Director of Environmental Innovation at Alberta Innovates.

BioLargo to Report Record Revenues in Fourth Quarter of 2020

Westminster, CA – December 21, 2020 – BioLargo, Inc. (OTCQB:BLGO), a developer of sustainable technologies and a full-service environmental engineering company, today announced that its current fourth quarter revenues of approximately $750,000 will result in new quarterly and annual records for the company.

In addition to setting revenue records, BioLargo also significantly reduced its debt obligations during the year. At December 31, 2019, its balance sheet showed approximately $4.6 million in notes payable and lines of credit, not including solely owed obligations of its partially owned subsidiary Clyra Medical. During this calendar year, BioLargo reduced the $4.6 million owed by over $2.8 million to approximately $1.7 million. Of that amount, $357,000 are SBA Paycheck Protection Act loans (which management expects will be forgiven in accordance with SBA’s terms), $200,000 will be converted to equity at maturity, and the remaining approximately $1.1 million may be converted by the investors and if not, will mature in August 2021.

BioLargo CEO Dennis P. Calvert commented, “I am proud of our team’s accomplishments in 2020, and am optimistic that we can continue the momentum next year and further improve our financial condition with successful execution of projects and contracts already in hand, as well as new product launches. Of course, multiple factors may affect the timing and amount of our sales, including uncertainties and unusual challenges related to the pandemic, and the obvious challenges inherent in introducing new technologies to the market.”

In a presentation recorded at the LD Micro virtual investor conference on December 14, 2020, Mr. Calvert explained that the company needs to reach approximately $1.25 million in quarterly revenues to get to cash-flow positive for operations supported by BioLargo (which excludes Clyra, which is independently financed). In the video, available below, he also explained the drivers behind the record revenues and detailed the company’s plans to launch its long-anticipated water treatment technologies, the BioLargo AOS and BioLargo AEC, in 2021.

BioLargo installs CupriDyne Clean air quality control systems for clients in 'break-out moment'

Source: Proactive Investors (https://ca.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/935546/biolargo-installs-cupridyne-clean-air-quality-control-systems-for-clients-in--break-out-moment--935546.html

BioLargo Inc (OTCQB:BLGO) CEO Dennis Calvert tells Proactive the group's subsidiary ONM Environmental Inc recently installed several large and financially significant CupriDyne Clean air quality control systems at public and private landfills.

Calvert says these projects will lead to breaking records in revenue numbers, and are noteworthy because of their size, sophistication, and scope relative to past projects. They feature CupriDyne Clean, the company's award-winning, cost-effective volatile organic compounds- (VOCs) control product that eliminates odor-causing compounds and VOCs rather than masking them.

BioLargo Winning Big Projects for CupriDyne Clean Delivery Systems

Subsidiary ONM Environmental leading the way

Westminster, CA – December 1, 2020 – ONM Environmental, Inc., a subsidiary of BioLargo, Inc. (OTCQB:BLGO), a developer of sustainable technologies and a full-service environmental engineering company, has recently installed several large and financially significant CupriDyne Clean air quality control systems at public and private landfills. These projects are noteworthy because of their size, sophistication, and scope relative to past projects, and feature CupriDyne Clean, the company’s award-winning cost-effective odor and VOC control product that eliminates odor-causing compounds and VOCs rather than masking them.

These most recent projects are driving increasing sales for ONM in recent months. Management anticipates these projects will propel the company to record revenues in the fourth quarter, assuming no delays in project execution occur as a result of significant new COVID-related government shutdowns or regulations.

These projects also include the use of ONM’s turnkey, self-contained misting trailers. These new trailers allow customers to control odors directly where new waste is being deposited on any given day. Designed and optimized to deliver ONM’s flagship product, CupriDyne Clean, these trailers lead to ongoing, continuous sales of this product, bolstering the overall scalability of the company’s air quality control business.

A video of the trailer can be viewed here: https://www.biolargo.com/cupridyne-misting-trailer

ONM also began working with two municipalities in Southern California, one of which required the installation of a 4,000-foot-long perimeter misting system for a landfill. The second involved ONM delivering multiple of its new portable misting trailers which use its flagship product CupriDyne Clean on an ongoing basis.

President of ONM Environmental, Joe Provenzano stated, “We have a reputation as a company that delivers the highest quality and most dependable air quality control solutions and deployment systems, even in some of the toughest on-the-ground conditions in industry. We are winning larger and more financially significant projects than ever before.”

The company provided a photo gallery from recent installations (including the new portable trailers). This photo gallery is available here: https://www.biolargo.com/case-studies
